Terms & Conditions – The Developing Teacher Course with Spanish (DTCS) and Visa Support Service

Please note that enrolment on this course is subject to the following terms and conditions:

  1. Deposits (the first month of your course – €300) are non-refundable.
    1. If you require a letter of enrolment, the course fees must be paid in full at least two weeks before you need the letter (e.g., the date of your visa appointment).
    2. If you do not require a letter of enrolment, the course fees must be paid in full at least two weeks before your course start date.
  2. If you postpone the start date of your course giving:
    1. More than 2 weeks notice—no penalty. The deposit will be valid for a future course. The course must be taken within 12 months of its postponement.
    2. Less than 2 weeks notice—you will forfeit your original €300 deposit which must be paid again. If any other payments have been made, that money will be valid for a future course. The course must be completed within 12 months of its postponement.
  3. If you cancel the course BEFORE receiving a letter of enrolment, or if you do not require a letter of enrolment to attend the course:
    1. At least 2 weeks before the course starts—full refund of balance (not of €300 deposit)
    2. Between 1 and 2 weeks before the course starts—50% refund of balance (not of €300 deposit)
    3. Less than 1 week before the course starts—0% refund
  4. If you cancel the course AFTER receiving a letter of enrolment, but before the course starts:
    1. If you are still in your country of residence, and your initial visa application has been rejected, the full balance (except €300 deposit) will be refunded. You will need to send us a copy of the rejection letter before the refund can be processed.
    2. If your letter of enrolment was issued for visa renewal purposes, you will need to provide sufficient evidence that you have made arrangements to leave Spain, or that you have legalized your situation through other means. If you are able to do so, the full balance (except €300 deposit) will be refunded. Otherwise, no refund can be issued as a measure to prevent visa fraud.
    3. In all other cases, our standard refund policy applies:
      1. At least 2 weeks before the course starts—full refund of balance (not of €300 deposit)
      2. Between 1 and 2 weeks before the course starts—50% refund of balance (not of €300 deposit)
      3. Less than 1 week before the course starts—0% refund
  5. If you do not show up to your course and you have not given us any prior notification of this, the initial €300 deposit will need to be paid again if you wish to rejoin.
  6. If you fail to complete at least 85% of the course, we cannot provide you with a course certificate or a letter of course completion for visas or identity cards. You will also lose access to the visa service. 
  7. The place on any course and fees paid cannot be transferred to another person.
  8. Oxford TEFL cannot be held responsible for loss or theft of personal belongings.
  9. We reserve the right to cancel a course up to 2 weeks before the start date. In this case, your full fees will be refunded (including deposit). Trainees taking courses outside of their home country are advised to have cancellation insurance for their flights.
  10. Groups of Spanish classes are formed every month, according to demand. If a minimum of 6 students is not met, alternative study activities will be arranged.
  11. The Developing Teacher course can run from a minimum of 1 month up to a maximum of 12 months.
