How will this course help me develop?

This course aims to develop the knowledge and practical skills which are required to teach English to young learners effectively. It provides practical ideas on how to approach and plan for young learner courses as well as materials and ideas for specific activities. You will develop your awareness of what children aged 5 to 12 are capable of, what they enjoy and what strategies work best to motivate them to learn. Your lessons will become better managed and more effective and you will learn how to create engaging, interesting lessons for young learners.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Teaching Young Learners online course. I thought the content of the course was excellent and covered all areas of teaching in the Young Learners class, and provided great ideas for activities, games, stories and drama to use. The tutor was very friendly, encouraging and very helpful throughout the duration of the course. I would totally recommend this course to new teachers who don’t have the experience of teaching young learners. Continue reading
