Testimonials

Having completed the Diploma has been one of the best decisions I have made in terms of professional growth and self-actualisation. The dedicated tutors gave me constructive criticism, targeted at improving my competency in a step-by-step way, raised my awareness and understanding resulting in a much improved teaching and teacher training style. I also secured a role as Director of Studies in Paris after successfully completing the Diploma. Thank you to all the supportive OHC staff that provided invaluable assistance all along the way.
Alan Wong - Distance on-line Diploma February - August 2007

The Diploma course at OxfordTEFL has set me up for my future career. Not only did I learn a great deal about the various aspects of teaching, I also became much more self-aware of my strengths and weaknesses as a teacher. This can only serve to benefit my students in the future. The course itself was quite intense, it's true, but it also proved hugely enjoyable and rewarding. The tutors are professional and supportive and the other Diploma students brought a variety of experience and character which made working with them a pleasure. I'm glad I made the decision to do my Diploma here and I will remember this summer fondly for many years to come.
Mark Watson - Summer Intensive Diploma course May - August 2007

I feel so glad I did this course. It was refreshing to be exposed to that many new ideas about teaching materials, techniques and activities and to be encouraged to explore different methods of putting these into practice. Not to mention the value of cooperating with other teachers, more experienced than myself. Thank you to you and Mark for all the support you offered all of us during the course! I wish you all the best with everything.
Shirin Alexander - Full-time Summer intensive Diploma May - August 2007

My first post-diploma job has been an FE college summer school in England. I have done the same job for the last four years but the difference this year was amazing. I had increased confidence with both the students and other members of staff, in fact the college put me in charge of IELTS preparation for advanced Japanese students. As these students will be depending on their IELTS score in order to continue their education in the UK, that was quite a responsibilty, but the confidence I had gained from doing the Diploma resulted not only in some very contented students but lots of invitations to visit Japan! Increased confidence, job prospects and industry respect.....it was worth every penny and every minute.
Gary Jones - Part-time Diploma course October 2006-May 2007

As for me, I am working in France running a "one man show " tefl course. And yes, thanks to the Diploma course , I feel more prepared to be doing this and have a clearer and more informed picture of why we do certain things and where they come from .( not to mention that without the Dip I wouldn't have been qualified to be running an accredited course as this ,and probably wouldn't have been offered the job !
Erwin Mark Ebens - Intensive Diploma July 2005

First of all thanks to all of you for your help over the last six months, both for your help towards the projects and also as far as preparing us for the exams is concerned! I enjoyed the course a lot since I found the input sessions really good and interesting providing a real stimulus for learning. Also, in terms of the written exam they were of great relevance. I also enjoyed the guest lecturers a lot as it was a nice change to our routine. I`m glad I`ve done this course and I enjoyed it, also thanks to the rest of the friendly and helpful staff working there. It`s definitely a place I can and will recommend in the future. Thanks again and see you around -

I just wanted to thank you for all the training and support. So I passed my Phonology and Observed Classes and am very happy about that! I really appreciated your input and the way you and Mark always challenged me to do better. It really felt like we were on the same side. As for the overall course I would say keep doing what you are doing!
All the input sessions were great! My favorite reading was Harmmer, Scrivener, Underhill, and Parrott. Lindsay's on-line grammar sessions were excellent, 2 input sessions from the Computer Tech Teachers as well as Mr. Powell would be better as I really enjoyed their classes and got a lot of useful ideas out of them.

What I liked most about the course were the hands on activities, peer teaching, debates and of course the pub quizzes.... There was a good balance between theory and practice, and we were encouraged to draw from our own experience and to become more self-critical in the classroom. The Diploma has definitely opened new doors for me professionally, leading on to teacher training, materials writing and a senior position in a language academy.

ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!! The tutors were tirelessly dedicated; a real wealth of information and inspiration. Despite being an intensive course it was just the ticket for a real good dose of Anti Stagnation Strategies. The reading material provided was obviously well considered and chosen. It was interesting, challenging and enjoyable. THANKS for everything!

Having done the dip and having 12 year's experience has worked out for me in Paris. In addition to the full time perm contract and teacher training job I told you about I've also got 4 hours at the British institute-University of London in Paris, and have been offered a chance to take over a post as language section director of a company next year. Not bad.
