The course in London is run in collaboration with Bloomsbury International which is an independent British Council accredited English language and teacher training school situated in the ideal location for student life in London; tranquil, leafy Bloomsbury. This is the heart of literary London and home to the British Museum but still just walking distance from the vibrant, fashionable West End, Covent Garden, Oxford Street shopping and London's famous parks.

The school is a perfect mix of the old and the new, occupying a beautiful historic, Georgian building but with the latest 21st century comfort and technology, including high speed wireless internet access and three separate computer rooms with 70 Pcs. Our training courses are taught by a team of dedicated, enthusiastic Diploma qualified trainers who draw from a wide range of teaching, training and management experience gained both in the UK and overseas.


The course in London

Our course in London is five weeks, providing trainees with more time for reflection and assimilation of material and methodology as well as for researching and writing up assignments. As in our other destinations our careers advisor is on hand throughout the course to advise trainees about teaching positions locally and all over the world. Your teaching practice will be with mixed nationality groups of adult students. Extension courses in teaching Business English and Teaching Young learners are also available.

Accommodation

For those trainees that are in need of accommodation during the course we have a wide range of choices to suit their requirements and budget. Our Host Families, Flat Share, Student Residences & Hotels are all provided by partner agencies who are specialists in providing a high standard of accommodation inspected to British Council standards.

Accommodation is conveniently located on the main transport links to the school, so trainees are never more than 30 minutes journey time from the school whether they choose from our Central or Outer options.

Homestay

When most of our students first arrive in the UK, they choose to stay with one of our specially selected families, where a warm welcome is guaranteed. This offers a very good opportunity to learn about life in the UK and to practise English at the same time.

In a homestay family you can have your own room or share with a friend. You will have use of all essential facilities including the kitchen & bathroom and you will eat your meals together with the family (You can choose to have breakfast only or breakfast and dinner every day). You will normally stay with the same host family for the duration of your stay. Many students keep in touch with their homestay families once they have returned home and remain friends for many years.

Rooms are cleaned frequently and bed linen changed weekly. While you will be allowed to receive incoming calls, you are advised for your convenience to bring or buy a mobile. They can be bought for approximately £60.00. One load of laundry per week will be done for you. There is no Internet access or laptop plug-in point. Please use the facilities at the School.

All our home-stay accommodation is checked by our partner agency’s Accommodation Officer and monitored regularly by our staff to ensure that it is of a good standard and host families are given strict guidelines about the services they provide to ensure all our accommodation is operated to the same standards.

We have homestay accommodation, in different parts of London. You can choose to live in central London (zones 1 or 2) where the door-to-door travelling time to school is approximately 30 to 40 minutes or you can stay in outer London (zones 3 or 4) where travelling time is around 60 minutes. For a supplementary fee, it is also possible to have a private bathroom.

Flatshare

If you would rather have your own independence or prefer to cook for yourself and still be comfortable and live centrally, then a student flatshare could be the best choice for you. We have a selection of different properties so you could be sharing a 2 bedroom apartment or a large house with 6 other students.

Flats are usually between 30 to 40 minutes travelling time from the school. You can choose between a single, twin or double room and you will share the kitchen, bathroom and other facilities with your housemates. Bed linen is provided and most student houses have a washing machine or you can use a nearby launderette.

Rooms are cleaned thoroughly prior to your arrival and you will be expected to keep it clean during your stay.
