How easy is it to find a job?

There is currently a massive demand for English teachers in Barcelona and the rest of Spain. Since the economic crisis began we have seen more and more Spanish people taking English classes to improve their employment prospects. Is it expensive to live in Barcelona?

  • If you rent a room you can expect to pay between €300 and €450 a month.
  • If you eat at home then expect to spend about €200 a month on food.
  • If you travel by metro or bus twice a day from Monday to Friday it’s approximately €40 a month.

The rest would depend on what your lifestyle is like. Here’s some useful information about prices:

  • Cinema — about €9
  • Nightclubs — about €10-15 entrance fee with drink included
  • Beer at a normal bar — €2.50
  • Eating at a restaurant ordering “menu del día” — €5-15
