Apply for our CertTESOL course in Cadiz
Located directly on the Atlantic coast of Andalucía, in the South of Spain, Cádiz is a real alternative to other city-based courses. With an approximate population of 130,000, it is large enough to have plenty going on but retains the intimate feel of a small and friendly town. It is perfect for students looking for " the Spanish experience" with access to stunning coastlines, beaches, the freshest seafood and a wonderful climate. Cádiz is an excellent location to study for your TESOL certificate as, not only is it a great opportunity to spend a month in this wonderful city, but it puts you on the doorstep of a wealth of job opportunities throughout Andalucía, the rest of Spain and Portugal.
" historic city
" relaxed and welcoming atmosphere
" stunning beaches
" water sports galore
" great food
" doesn't cost the earth
Cádiz boasts the obvious attraction of kilometres of beach and an abundance of low-cost water sports for the more active trainee (sailing and surfing, wind and kite surfing are particularly popular). However, its attractions are not limited to the sun-lover. Being the oldest city in Europe, history is deeply ingrained in the city and its long tradition of flamenco, tapas and seafood, and, of course, sherry drinking is evident wherever you look. Live music can be found on a weekly basis in many of the bars
and the week-long February carnival is world renowned for its music competitions and could rival Rio for its vibrancy - for the locals there is no rival! Cádiz is also ideally situated for visits to the Sherry Triangle, Seville, Granada, Tarifa and other well-known Andalucian hot spots. And if that is not enough to keep you occupied in any spare time, both Portugal and Morocco are virtually on your doorstep!

We offer 4 or 5-week courses throughout the year, each followed by the option of our Teaching Young Learners Extension Course (TYLE) We are the only centre in Spain to offer the option of following a 4-week or a 5-week TESOL certificate course.
Our 4-week course suits those trainees who have limited time available for a TEFL course or feel confident that they will be able to cope with the intensity and workload involved in a 4-week course. Many trainee teachers, however, benefit from having more time for reflection and assimilation of material and methodology, or for writing up assignments and would therefore be better suited to our 5-week course which includes a week-long break mid-course.
Sign up for our new package and receive the YLE Course at a 25% discount.
Throughout the world, and especially in Spain, teaching younger learners (3-18) has become a key part of TEFL teachers' remit. We often find ourselves teaching more children than adults. At the end of any certificate course, while trainees should feel confident about teaching adults, the same might not be said for teaching younger learners. Both ex-trainees and employers have identified a need for further, more specific training in this area.
We offer a short introductory course which gives you the skills you need to start teaching younger learners feeling well-prepared, confident and enthusiastic.
The course
The Teaching Younger Learners Extension Course (TYLE) covers key areas of methodology alongside practical applications and will leave you with an extensive range of ideas and activities to use in the classroom. You will end the course with the confidence you need to embark on your teaching career with younger learners. The course has been designed in close collaboration with a large number of employers and is targeted to give you exactly the skills they are looking for and that you need.
The TYLE course takes place over three days, the week following the Certificate course. It involves four and a half hours per day of workshops, discussions and video observations.
Andalucía enjoys one of the mildest climates in Europe with a year-round average temperature of 18-20ºC on the coast and an average of over 300 days of sunshine throughout the
year. While temperatures soar inland, Cádiz remains temperate during the summer with maximum temperatures in July /August of 30ºC compared to Seville´s maximum 40ºC
in July and August.
Visas/Work Permits:
EU citizens are not required to have a visa or work permit. Non EU citizens can stay up to 3 months as tourists. We can provide advice and information for those wishing to secure work
and residence permits after course completion. EU citizens seeking work in Spain will not require a working visa. Non EU citizens can apply for a working visa once a job is secured, but
this is a lengthy process and most work for cash in hand ( technically illegal, but common practice)
Health insurance
EU citizens are covered and do not need separate medical insurance for up to three months. US citizens will need to be insured. You have several options. First, check with any insurance
policy you already have and see if they have an overseas provision, or rider that you can purchase. Your family might also have a general policy that provides this. There are also
companies that specialize in overseas policies, for both short-term and longer stays. The rates are reasonable and the service might actually be better than an add-on to an existing
policy. You can find these on the web under "overseas insurance" or "travelers insurance." We are told that Patriot is a popular company to use.
Citizens of other countries may need a visa to enter the country. Please consult your local Spanish consulate.
